Introduction
MiRNA-BD is an evidence-based bioinformatics model and software tool for microRNA (miRNA) biomarker discovery. It identifies miRNA biomarkers on the basis of two measures and two evidences as follows:
Measure 1: Number of single-line regulation (NSR) represents the number of genes that independently or uniquely regulated by single miRNAs.
Measure 2: Transcription factor (TF) percentage (TFP) is the percentage of TF genes targeted by a single miRNA.
Evidence 1: Biomarker miRNAs tended to have high NSR values.
Evidence 2: Biomarker miRNAs tended to have high TFP values.
